In a last-ditch effort to be the best mom on the planet before we slipped heavily into the school schedule, I took the kids to the splash pad the city built behind our new library. I thought it looked really fun, and I think the kids enjoyed it as well (once they got past the temperature of the freezing water!) The fact that 50 other moms had the same brilliant idea the day before school started kind of put a damper on the event as I counted about 200 kids trying to splash their little guts out. The Keckley kids didn't love it as much as the pool, but it was fun for a change of pace and I loved getting to try out camera tips I learned the weekend before at my photography class. I'm pretty pleased with the results--'course, it helps to have darling subjects and whole lot of water splashing around...
