Love Is a Many Splendored Thing

Valentine's Day...just the mere mention of that holiday and I start to feel nauseous. Maybe it's due to too many teenage dreams of roses and romantic dates with the guy that never called, or maybe it's the fact that just when I'm finished paying off the Christmas credit card, here comes another holiday! Either way, I try to harbor low expectations for this lovey-dovey, Hallmark induced day. Fortunately, thanks to my friend, Emily Walbruch, we were spared the need to create a fabulous Valentine's Day date--it was provided for us! We spent the evening with several of our close couple friends hanging out at Noah's, eating anything yummy that could be dipped into chocolate (except Shayne) and having lots of laughs playing the Newlywed game and, even, taking a stab at ice-skating on the roof (okay, I ice-skated and Shayne was a pleasant observer! He just wasn't up to braving that ice on a thin, wobbly blade!) Thanks, Em, for coming to the Valentine's Day rescue. And, oh yes, Shayne DID deliver--he gave me a beautiful bracelet that made up for all those dumb teenage boys! Thanks, babe!
