I can stand the snow. Until the end of February…maybe, even, into the first couple weeks of March. But when those lovely, yellow daffodils push their petaled heads through the frozen ground, I’m ready for some serious sun! This year was no exception.
In the middle of March, after another yucky snowfall, I called Shayne at work and declared that we were getting out of Dodge. I booked a condo unit in Las Vegas for the week of Spring Break (praying with my heart and soul that the sun gods would shine down upon us!) and off we went...
Probably for the first time in my adult life, I had no agenda for this trip. (Gasp!) Shayne wouldn’t believe me when I proclaimed that I couldn’t care less what we did or did not do on this trip as long as I got to soak in that sought after vitamin D! He, however, had just one request: to visit Hoover Dam. So, here’s how our itinerary ended up playing out for this trip:
| Enjoying the drive (all 6 hours of it) |
| Fynn can never pass up a carousel (discovered during some outlet shopping). |
| Watching a flick together in the condo (which we did every night). |
| The bridge spanning the Hoover Dam--pretty impressive! |
| Connor loved this statue and insisted on a photo with it |
| Ever my little poser |
| Each child finding the appropriate zodiac marker |
| The river let out at the bottom of the dam |
| Walking the bridge (that's a LONG way up!) |
| Crazy-colored clouds |
| The great Hoover Dam |
| Dinner at Bucca de Beppo (known for their massive meatballs) |
| The LONG walk through the shops at Caesar's Palace |
| The Las Vegas strip (the kid's first time seeing it at night). They loved the water show in front of the Bellagio Hotel! |
| Always loving the pool (and the sun!) |
| My four fabulous fish |
| M&M World on the strip (Dane wanted to know why they copied NYC!) |
| We are huge fans of the TV show "Pawn Stars" filmed at this pawn shop. We didn't sight any of the fellas, though. Bummer. |
| The infamous signage |
Thanks, Las Vegas, we had a blast! Until next time...
