Fifteen years and counting! I cannot believe that much time has passed since Shayne and I were sealed on December 17, 1994 in the Salt Lake temple at 12:45 p.m. We were one of 112 marriages that day! I remember being whisked in and out of the bridal dressing room (oh, watch out for the hair!), feeling completely nervous and wondering just what I was about to do, being overwhelmed with the number of people who loved us all squished into the sealing room, seeing my honey tear-up at the alter (that's right, I saw those glistening eyes), shoving his new wedding ring onto his finger and realizing it was two sizes too small, and emerging from changing into my wedding gown to meet this guy in the hallway as we were about to make our first entrance as husband and wife! I was shell-shocked, I think. But, happy. And how times goes by. Some days so slowly and complicated as a married couple. Other days just flying by in joking, laughter, warm, heartfelt, connecting moments--those kind where you are giddy to be spending the day with your best friend and eternal partner. Throw four kids, a house, a few vehicles, a couple of jobs, disappointments, hopes and dreams into the mix, and you have our tapestry of the last 15 years. I was really excited to become his that day...still am. And that is all that really matters...
We were lucky enough to be given a night out to celebrate our big 15 (thanks to Mom fitting us into her crazy schedule!) We gorged ourselves on delicious yummy things at the Melting Pot and took a lazy constitutional back to the Hotel Monaco in SLC where we stayed the night. We had a blast and even managed to find room in our stomachs for breakfast the next morning. Here's to you, Babe, and many more years of laughs and joy to come...
