As if throwing me a fantastic 40th birthday party and buying me the diamond ring of my dreams wasn't enough (have I mentioned how fantastically sparkly said ring is??!), Shayne whisked me away for an overnighter to Park City for just the two of us to celebrate the last moments of my birthday weekend. He had arranged for kid care, bed-and-breakfast reservations, packed my suitcase...and kept it all a secret!! All by himself! Wow, I was impressed! (He even brought along two of the cupcakes leftover from the party to satisfy my late night noshing.)
We had a lot of fun wandering around the Park City Outlets, going to a movie and dinner, and sleeping in the next day. We took our time getting home, perusing a few car lots for a hoped-for new vehicle (seeing as our Explorer is breaking down), and rescuing our kiddos from having to go to their grandparents' ward (lol). I had a great time and am so grateful to my sweet Hubs for pulling this all together for little ole me (wait...did I just say 'old'???)
