Third time's the charm as they say...so it was off to Vegas I went with my roadie girls to yet again see Maroon 5 in concert at Mandalay Bay. Since Jessica has already blogged this blessed event, I'm just going to steal her work (that's what friends are for, right?!) and let her re-tell of our grand adventure. As always, I'll insert my {asides}.
Friday morning, the very minute the kids boarded the school bus in fact, the four of us hit the road for Maroon 5 in Las Vegas! We pulled out of the neighborhood at 9:15, and arrived about 2:30 (thankfully not running out of gas around Valley of Fire). We checked into our room at Mandalay Bay, then headed straight back out the door for some shopping! Fashion Show Mall is always the first stop. Nordstrom treated us so well we didn't even have time to hit any other stores before our dinner reservation at Joe's!
I was so excited to share Joe's with the girls! It truly is my favorite restaurant EVER! Big Al treated us like royalty and we had a great dinner. After dinner we ran upstairs to check out Anthropologie. Then, despite Leslee's bleeding feet {gotta sacrifice the feet for fab shoes!}, we walked all the way back to Fashion Show to finish our shopping!
Everyone did pretty well for themselves, I must say! We drove back to the hotel, spent 20 minutes trying to find a parking spot (thanks to Alicia Keys performing at our hotel that night), and finally made it back to our room. Of course we were up way too late laughing and talking about all kinds of crazy things!
Saturday morning we got up around 8:30, grabbed breakfast at the hotel buffet, then hit the pool by 10:30. Imagine my surprise to find a sandy beach! We had the most glorious time in the 85 degree sunshine, sipping our pina coladas and reading. Eventually our winter-pale skin had had enough and we went back to the room to get ready for the big night ahead.
