Since he was ten, Connor has taken lessons in jiujitsu. Because he is such a big kid for his age, he is pretty strong and does well grappling with the kids in his studio. He does so well, in fact, his instructor told us to start bringing him to the adult class! And for the first time ever, Connor asked us to enroll him in a local jiujitsu tournament. It was nerve-wracking for me to watch him fight with all these kids. I had visions of a broken nose, rolled ankle, concussion...I really hated watching them hurl him to the ground. I think it was a bit of a shock to him to see how strong some of the kids were, but he tried really hard to do his best and we were so proud of him! Way to go, buddy!
